Abstract/Summary: | |
This study constitutes an in-depth examination (case study) of one example of a probation-police partnership underway in Spokane, Washington. It is designed to identify and analyze anticipated and unanticipated consequences of probation-police partnerships so that they can be managed effectively by the participating agencies. The goals of this project are to identify and analyze the unanticipated consequences of probation-police partnerships that detract from their utility for the criminal justice system. Recommendations are offered to contribute to an understanding of the implications of police-probation partnerships, and to help partnering law enforcement and corrections agencies manage these consequences more effectively in the future. |
