Classification of UHF-algebras: The role of groupoid in the new approach to classification theory

The classical classification of the UHF algebras is reviewed in the light of the new classification paradigm presented in [KST]. In the course of review, we prove that the exact sequence: 1&rarrr;Int Uinfinity⊗K &rarrr;Aut Uinfinity⊗K →mod&rarrr; Q*+&rarrr;1 splits. This result allows us to build a functor from the category of dimension groups into the category of UHF algebras.
