The relationships between junior high school teachers' information literacy and their integration of information technology into curriculum in Taiwan (China)

Abstract/Summary:
This study examines the relationship between information literacy and integration of information technology into the curriculum of junior high school teachers in Taiwan. The purposes are to determine junior high school teachers' current level of information literacy, the extent of integration information technology into curriculum, and the relationship between information literacy and integration of information technology into curriculum in Taiwan. The results show that the level of information literacy is moderate; the extent that teachers integrate information technology into curriculum is moderate; there exists high correlation between information literacy and the integration of information technology into curriculum. This study identified the current level of teachers' ability in information literacy and the extent of integration of information technology into curriculum. It also identified the relationship between information literacy and the integration of information technology into curriculum. This study recommended that Taiwan junior high school teachers should incorporate information literacy into their lifelong learning plan in order to enhance their ability in information literacy. Furthermore, they should expand the extent of integration of information technology into curriculum.
