Eucharist and temporality

This dissertation is a study of possible relationships between the sacrament of the Eucharist and time. The first chapter presents a summary of current theological treatments of the Eucharist. The second chapter condenses these treatments into seven sacramental themes. The third chapter is a rather lengthy summary of the theories of temporality contained in the work of three recent philosophers: P. Ricoeur, M. Heidegger and E. Levinas. The fourth and concluding chapter is an attempt to relate these theories of temporality in a meaningful way to the sacrament of the Eucharist.
