Abstract/Summary:

The chemistry of polyhedral boranes is a rich and diverse field. This dissertation discusses a wide variety of polyhedral borane chemistry. The oxidation of polyhedral borane anions is explored. The polyhedral borane anion byproducts in a boronated plasma physics reactor are described. Organic oxidants such as benzoquinone and tetrachlorobenzoquinone are investigated in conjunction with polyhedral borane anions.
