This research was divided into three main parts. The first part focused on the copolymerization of a mixture 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-phenyl-6-fluoroquinoxaline and 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-phenyl-6-fluoroquinoxaline with less expensive comonomers. Thus, the quinoxaline monomer was copolymerized with bisphenol A and 4,4;In the second part, several attempts were made to polymerize the self-polymerizable polyphenylquinoxaline (PPQ) mixture of 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-phenyl-6-chloroquinoxaline and 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-phenyl-6-chloroquinoxaline. Although the purity of the monomer mixture was extremely high, it could not be polymerized to high molecular weights.;In the last part of this research, more reactive self-polymerizable quinoxaline monomers were synthesized. Thus, a mixture of 3-(2-(6-hydroxynaphthalenyl))-2-phenyl-6-fluoroquinoxaline and 2-(2-(6-hydroxynaphthalenyl))-3-phenyl-6-fluoroquinoxaline was synthesized and polymerized in N-methylpyrrolidinone (NMP) to afford a PPQ with an intrinsic viscosity of 2.51 dL/g and a T...
