Abstract/Summary:
Intermetallic compounds based on the Al;Current evaluations of the phase equilibrium for Al-Ti, Al-Zr, and Al-Hf binary systems are presented, with focus on non-equilibrium processing. In addition, the properties of aluminum alloys prepared by MA, Al;Metastable L1;Mechanical alloying resulted in extended solid solutions for Al-rich compositions in the Al-Ti, Al-Zr, and Al-Hf systems. The crystallite size in the mechanically alloyed powder decreased and the residual strain increased with increasing solute content.
