Abstract/Summary:
A comprehensive three-dimensional, three-phase, isothermal, compositional simulator (COMPDU 2.0) is developed to model imbibition carbonated waterflooding, CO;In the imbibition carbonated waterflooding CO;The numerical solution scheme is implicit in pressure and explicit on saturation and composition (IMPESC). A pre-elimination scheme is used to reduce the coefficient matrix order of the dual-porosity pressure equations from 2N to N. The Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy (CFL) number and the maximum change in local pressure, composition, and saturation are used to select the timestep size.;This simulator is validated by running the cases in the SPE comparative solution projects ;COMPDU 2.0 is used to simulate laboratory imbibition carbonated waterflood processes. Results indicate that COMPDU 2.0 significantly improves the simulation results and performance over that of COMABS. With the improvements in CO...
