Abstract/Summary:
The use of coatings on fused silica in Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) has increased the types of analytes that can be successfully analyzed by the technique. Coatings have also increased the possible uses of CE in the future by providing another dimension of separation optimization for CE separations. Conductive polymer coatings are new to the field of CE. The double strand structure of these polymers used in these studies imparts physically and chemical stability to them. In this dissertation the methods and effects of coating fused silica with conductive polymers were investigated and separations of neutral, anionic and cationic molecules were performed.
