Constraining the eta'-g*-g form factor and implication for B meson decaying to eta'-strange X meson | Posted on:2004-08-22 | Degree:Ph.D | Type:Dissertation | University:University of Cincinnati | Candidate:Chen, Yixiong | Full Text:PDF | GTID:1460390011975590 | Subject:Physics | Abstract/Summary: | | Using the ϒ → η′ + X data measured by CLEO, we obtain constraints on the η′- g*-g form factor. Our results indicate that only a rapidly falling form factor, consistent with perturbative QCD, is not ruled out. Consequently, within the Standard Model, the b → s(g* → gη′ ) mode should only contribute O(10−5 ) to the B → η′ Xs branching ratio for pη ′ > 2.0 GeV. Other contributions to B → η ′Xs are summarized. Our constraint implies that a theoretical explanation for the large rate observed for ( B → η′Xs) (pη′ > 2.0 GeV) is still lacking within the Standard Model, suggesting that the intervention of New Physics may be required. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Formfactor | | Related items |
