Abstract/Summary:
Real Options Reasoning is slowly making inroads into the project evaluation landscape either as a quantitative technique or as a heuristic for managerial thinking. While the extant literature is focused on quantitative analysis and the valuation of real options, there is a concerted effort to diagnose the behavioral underpinnings of real options reasoning. This dissertation is in the spirit of the latter, wherein, the objective is to understand the impact of providing specific information to decision-makers is measured under varying levels of project completion. The results show decision-makers value the specificity of information presented, but nevertheless seek completion.
