Abstract/Summary:
In this study, first, new Peak-to-Average Ratio (PAR) reduction scheme called Group Balancing via Tone Reservation (GBTR) has been developed, and it is improvements of Active set method. The scheme increases average power intentionally and decreases high peaks at the same time, resulting in more decrease of PAR in a short time. There has been around 2dB better performance achievement on PAR over active set method with an example of specific system. Second, Tone reservation PAR reduction technique for complex signal has been derived. The real kernel vector for real signal is extended, as if two separate real signals are reduced using the real kernel vector. Then, it is proposed that Tone Reservation kind PAR reduction technique best fits for the Space Time Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (STC-OFDM) without making the system complicated any more.
