Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this study was to understand the impact of the Dance Artform Necessitates Choreographic Expression (D.A.N.C.E.) project among high school physical education students. Students were observed in their natural classroom setting while engaged in the D.A.N.C.E. project. The D.A.N.C.E. project was a collaborative group choreography project that required students to create a performance routine based on specific dance content standards. In addition, the study determined how and to what extent the D.A.N.C.E. project implemented Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences. The study was nonexperimental and descriptive in nature. The unit of analysis was students who comprise the collaborative group for the D.A.N.C.E. project. The case study produced qualitative narrative reporting that added an in depth and descriptive look into the topic researched. Reflective analysis was used portray the phenomena studied.
