Abstract/Summary:
In this quantitative descriptive study, 126 (N = 126) general and special education teachers from 16 high schools in an urban school district in Central Missouri provided responses generated from A. Love's (2005) Teachers' Beliefs Questionnaire and Teachers' Demographic Profile. These questionnaires were designed to measure the beliefs and demographic information of those teachers who taught high school students in a large metropolitan area in Central Missouri. The data for the study were collected and analyzed in accordance to 4 research questions and their respective hypotheses. Based on the responses of those research questions, the study concluded that teacher beliefs regarding teaching practices and social interaction in the classroom are not necessarily determined by the ethnicity, subject/content area, gender, and/or years of experience of the teachers.
