Abstract/Summary:
This study evaluated the impact of individual training scores on individual outcomes and store level outcomes using Kraiger's (2003) evaluation model. A large data set of gas and convenience store employees was used. Results demonstrated that training stores predicted individual turnover and performance. Additionally, a store level training score was created and this predicted store turnover, tenure, and customer service ratings. Stores that performed better on training had more desirable individual and organizational outcomes.;The results from this study are interpreted and discussed in light of current literature. Practical implications and suggestions for managers are also outlined. Overall, training scores predicted desired individual and store level outcomes and can be used as a reliable indicator of store performance.
