| Although there has been increased interest and research on religious marriages, there have not been measures to examine the unique factors present in religious marriages. Research has examined aspects of religion and marriage but their relationship is not empirically understood. The current study seeks to develop a measure that provides a basis for the study of religious marriages. The proposed theory of three factors---affect, behavior, and cognition---that influence marital satisfaction in religious couples was not statistically supported. However, there appears to be three factors that influence marital satisfaction, which might be related to intimacy with God, spouse, and religious community. |
