Abstract/Summary:
Soybean cyst nematode (SCN) is a major soybean pest. Soybean plant introductions (PIs) 90763 and 404198A are important SCN resistance sources. Quantitative trait loci (QTLs) were identified for resistance to SCN using molecular markers in these two PIs. QTLs were identified on linkage groups (LGs) A2, B1, E, G, J and L for resistance to SCN races 2, 3 and 5 in PI 90763 whereas QTLs were found on LGs A2, B1, G and N for resistance to SCN races 1, 2 and 5 in soybean PI 404198A. In PI 90763, QTL on LG G was associated with resistance to races 2, 3 and 5, QTL on LG B1 with resistance to races 2 and 5, QTL on LG J with resistance to races 2 and 3, QTLs on LGs A2 and L with resistance to race 3, and QTL on LG E with resistance to race 5. In PI 404198A, QTL on LG G was associated with resistance to races 1, 2 and 5, QTL on LG B1 with resistance to races 2 and 5, QTLs on LGs A2 and N with resistance to races 1 and 5 separately. Combined with SCN resistant QTLs reported by previous studies, QTLs on LGs G, A2, B1, E and J are important for resistance to soybean cyst nematode in soybean.
