Abstract/Summary:
The adsorption and aggregation properties of surfactants are important to their performance as corrosion inhibitors. Thus, understanding surfactant adsorption and aggregation phenomena can lead to more effective use of surfactants for corrosion inhibition. Various techniques such as electrochemical testing, spectroscopy, and other surface measurements were utilized, and recent surfactant-inhibition models were evaluated to study surfactant adsorption phenomena, the effect of adsorption on corrosion, the effect of surfactant properties and solution environment on surfactant adsorption, and the relationship between surfactant adsorption and corrosion inhibition.
