Abstract/Summary:
At the present time, Charge-Parity asymmetry or CP Violation is one of the most studied topics in high energy physics. Precise measurements of CP parameters can test sensitive sectors of the Standard Model (SM). These measurements could also give us clues about physics beyond the SM. Furthermore, since CP Violation is one of the necessary conditions for generating a matter-antimatter asymmetric Universe according to the baryo-genesis model of Sakharov, a better understanding of these processes will improve our knowledge about the origin of the Universe.; CP Violation in single Cabibbo-Suppressed charged D meson decays is predicted by the SM to have asymmetries of the order of O (10-3), results bigger than this will be strong evidence of physics beyond the SM. We report results of the search for CP violation in D+ → K-K+pi + meson decays. The selection criteria were optimized using a control sample from data with a luminosity of 9.8 fb-1. The systematic errors were studied within the control sample. The asymmetries are defined as ACP = BD+ →fB D+→fCF -BD- →f BD-→f CF BD+→f BD+ →fCF +BD-→f B D-→fCF where B (D+/- → fCF ) is the Cabibbo-favored branching fraction used to reduce systematic errors. We have calculated the asymmetries with the B ( D+s → K-K +pi+) as normalization factor. The asymmetries normalized with B (D+ → K -pi+pi+) and without any normalization were used as cross checks. The CP asymmetries obtained with 79.9 fb-1 of data are A CP(K+K -pi+/-) = +0.00136 +/- 0.0103(stat) +/- 0.0081(syst), ACP(&phis;pi+/- ) = +0.0024 +/- 0.0152(stat) +/- 0.0065(syst), and ACP(K+/- K*0) = +0.0088 +/- 0.0177(stat) +/- 0.0073. The CP asymmetry across the Dalitz plot is constant and consistent with zero. The relative branching ratio of the decay D + → K-K +pi+ has also been measured GD+→K+ K-p+ GD+→K-p +p+ = 0.1070 +/- 0.0009(stat) +/- 0.0008(syst).
