Abstract/Summary:
This dissertation studies several dimensions of education policy that are particularly relevant to the educational systems of developing countries. Chapter 1 studies the effects of changes in the grade structure of Botswana's educational system on educational attainment and labor market outcomes. Chapter 2 investigates the impact of a national school fee elimination program in South Africa on school enrollment. Finally, Chapter 3 evaluates the impact of a primary school library program on children's language skills in India.
