An examination of cultural factors influencing pool game enthusiasts to attend professional pool events in Taiwan, Japan, and China

Abstract/Summary:
The problem. The purpose of the study was to examine and measure the relationship between pool fans who attend professional pool games and demographic, promotional strategies, marketing strategies, cultural impact, competitive events, environment factors, and players' attributes. The study also discovered different cultures have different results in the three countries, Taiwan, Japan, and China.;Method. The primary data was collected with three versions of the questionnaire in order to investigate what factors influence pool fans to attend professional pool games. The specific criteria for data sources were two hundred questionnaires distributed in Taiwan, Japan, and China for a grand total of six hundred questionnaires. Spearman's Coefficient of Correlation Analysis will be used to test the significance of relationships among variables. Independence t-test and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used to determine the difference between subgroup means.;Results. The findings of this research indicated pool fans with different demographic factors, promotional strategies, marketing strategies, cultural impact, competitive events, environment factors, and players' attribute variables have either positive or negative differences or relationships to attending professional pool games in Taiwan, Japan, and China. Even though focusing on the same variables, pool fans from different cultures, Taiwan, Japan, and China, have different responses.
