Abstract/Summary:
Given racial/ethnic disparities in vaccination rates for African Americans, the study investigated patterns of knowledge, attitudes, and other determinants of compliance and non-compliance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Seasonal Flu and HIN1 Flu Guidelines for Parents, using a sample (n=32) of African American mothers. The study recruited a convenience sample of mothers aged 25 and over with children under the age of 18 via social marketing techniques for participation in on-line focus groups and individual interviews.
