Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this study is to explore and describe the process of alliance creation and maintenance between U.S. institutions of higher education and enterprises in Hong Kong. The methodology is a qualitative case study in which administrators from U.S. universities offering programs in Hong Kong and administrators from organizations in Hong Kong who partner with the U.S. universities were interviewed. Data analysis consists of categorization and interpretation of the data collected from participant interviews to identify common patterns and themes among the participants. A descriptive framework was developed to describe the cases, and content analysis was used to identify emergent themes. Data is presented in tables. A model for partnership development is proposed.
