With the use of the computers and the Internet, is the explicit and gratuitous offer of erotic components, which opens a window of possibilities in the field of the sexuality and the way in which the human beings are related it. It was given a specific glance to certain conducts and/or cognitions that in general way could contribute and/or make difficult to the daily task of some students of the University of Puerto Rico. The justification of this work was to obtain more data on the patterns of use in erotic websites and the moods presented by the sample and to demystify and/or to clarify possible stereotypes on the use of the Internet in the society. The objective of the study was to explore specifically, if the pattern of use of the Internet can be correlated to pathology (depression) or could be another "normal" manifestation of the sexuality.;Of the 363 people who completed questionnaires, 141 were men (38.8%) and 222 women (61.2%). The average of the ages of the participants was of 22 years. Detailing the access to the erotic websites of the sample was found that 48% of the sample (N=173 participant) had acceded to erotic websites in the last year. A participation of 57% of women was obtained and 43% were men. These were boarded in the lobbies of the selected faculties and in the computer centers of such.;In order to obtain data of the sample the technique of the questionnaire was used which includes a translated version of the "Online Sexual Addiction Questionnaire", the Beck Inventory of Depression and information on demographic data. In the revision of literature different perspectives appeared on the positive and negative contributions and consequences of the use of the Internet. After completing the revision of literature it does not exist a single position that clarifies the debate on if the depression is part of the cause or a mere effect of the inadequate use. In the study it is used cultural the historical perspective of Lev Vygotsky and the cognitive-behavioral perspective to explain possible individual and social transformations.;Finally in both groups an ample majority of the participants did not refer indicators of depression when evaluated with the Beck Inventory of Depression. The results are that in each one of the scales there were statistically significant differences and that the people who acceded to erotic websites had higher scores in comparison with the ones that did not acceded. The users of erotic websites scored slightly more in comparison with the ones that referred not to accede to erotic websites.
