Preformulation studies on the anti-cancer drug Imexon | Posted on:2008-08-29 | Degree:Ph.D | Type:Dissertation | University:The University of Arizona | Candidate:Kuehl, Philip | Full Text:PDF | GTID:1444390005477949 | Subject:Health Sciences | Abstract/Summary: | | Imexon is an aziridine-containing iminopyrrolidone that is of significant interest due to its selective growth inhibitory effect against multiple myeloma. Regrettably, administration of Imexon has proven difficult largely due to its rapid degradation in aqueous medium. The collective aim of this research was to conduct preformulation studies to characterize and understand the stability and solubility of Imexon in both aqueous and non-aqueous systems. Furthermore, these data will be utilized as rational support to create an efficacious formulation for the delivery of Imexon. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Imexon | | Related items |
