This objective of this study is to explore the effect of glass ceiling on women career and to analyze the barriers for women to that could create impact on their career.For this purpose,sample of n=902 is selected from the Governmental organization,Nongovernmental Organizations NGOs and banking organization in Pakistan.This research study includes important variables like Glass Ceiling,HRM Policies,sexual harassment,women networking,women turnover,cultural barriers and women career.The research has used factor analysis to measure the factors loaded in this study.According to the results,Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin Measure of Sampling Adequacy shows.882 and Bartlett's Test of Sphericity exhibits 49322.746 values that is considered as appropriate value in this study,This study has developed some hypothesis to explore the effect of glass ceiling on women career and scientifically analyze the barriers for women to move towards top management positions.According to results,glass ceiling is negatively linked with women career and this hypothesis was properly supported by this research.The hypothesis,“HRM polices lead to better results” was rejected by this study.The third hypothesis was that sexual harassment puts adverse effect on women career that is clearly support and hence proved by this research study.The fourth hypothesis was women networking is positively associated with women career that is proved and clearly accepted by this research study.The fifth hypothesis was women turnover is negatively correlated with women career that was surprisingly rejected by this research that shows women leave the organization due to search of another best position in different organizations.The overall results show that glass ceiling is serious problems and it exists in different organizations working in Pakistan.The women career is negatively influenced by sexual harassment and women face huge cultural barriers to do their jobs in different sectors of economy.The results also show that women networking is necessary for the women to acquire important working knowledge,learn work-related skills form their male and female colleagues.In addition to that,decision makers should also specify important HRM polices as in this research it is proved the policies do nothing or little to encourage the women to move towards top managerial positions.This study is very important and beneficial for the governmental,Non-governmental and banking organization to specify effective strategies to break the existence of glass ceiling and help the women to make their career in better and effective manner.
