Structural Conflict And Intervention Of Sports Teams Under The Chinese Context

There is obvious difference between the structure components of Chinese and western sports teams under Chinese context.The leaders of the teams,coaches and athletes consist the unique team structural type of sports teams in China from the perspective of team roles.The team structure which is formed by team role individual causes behavior of team conflicts with the relationship of competition and cooperative in the process of sports team behavior.Such as other types of teams,there are task conflict and relationship conflict in the conflict behaviour of sports team under Chinese context.With the promotion of comprehensive strength of competitive sports in China and the internationalization process of Chinese sports teams,the structure system of sports team is gradually rich,the training methods are increasingly international and the team behaviour process are more complex.The conflict phenomenon of sports team caused by team structure also attracts the public attention increasingly and it has the effects of negative impact on team performance.The research on the structural conflicts of sports team under Chinese context as a new field of domestic sports team management has not formed a complete theoretical framework and research system.For exploring a relatively complete research framework of structural conflicts theory of sports team,this paper employs the conflict theory,the structural function theory,role theory,self-efficacy theory,communicative action theory and the methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis,theoretical and empirical analysis and system and comprehensive analysis.It studies the structural conflicts and communication intervention of sports team under Chinese context through the famous domestic cases of sports team conflicts in past 20 years,the interview and tracking observation of 22 leaders of teams,coaches and athletes and the field survey of 29 sports teams.And it forms the character of Chinese context theory basing on the mode of conflict intervention.Through the analysis,the main conclusions are as follows.1.There is the pervasive conflict phenomenon in the process of sports team behavior under Chinese context and it can be divided into task conflict which aims at person not matter and Guanxi conflict which aims at matter not person.The intensity level of task conflict is low and it can enhance the self-efficacy of individual role in the team.While the intensity level of relationship conflict is high,it can reduce the self-efficacy of individual role in the team and it will influence the performance of team.Thus the task conflict has constructive effect on the performance of the sports team and Guanxi conflict has a destructive effect on the performance of team.2.The sports team owns the structure which differs from sports teams in other countries under Chinese context.The complete sports team consists of administration structure represented by leaders of teams,technique structure represented by coaches and execution structure represented by athletes.The administration structure and technique structure form the duality leadership.This team(leadership)structure reflects Chinese context character and it determines the behaviour process of team from the perspective of basic structure.3.The competition and cooperation are the main structural relationship of sports team behavior,which decides he basic analytical framework of sports team conflicts.According to parallel and interactive relationship of sports team structures,this paper divides the sports team into competitive-cooperative sports team and cooperative—competitive sports team.The execution structure of competitive—cooperative sports team focus on the competitive relationship on team behaviour and role relationship is parallel,such as sports teams of individual event.The execution structure of cooperative—competitive sports team focus on cooperation relationship and the role relationship is interactive,such as sports team of group event.4.There is the significant effect on team conflicts of sports team under Chinese context.The structure as independent variable has the significant effect on sports team conflicts of different levels(cities,provinces and countries)and types(competitive-cooperative and cooperative-competitive)under Chinese context.The higher level sports teams have much more significant effect.5.There is the significant effect on the structural conflicts of sports team under Chinese context.The concept of Chinese context is introduced into the conflict behaviour of sports team and the Chinese context as independent variable has the significant effect on structural conflicts in the sports team of different levels in China.The higher level sports teams have the much more significant effect.6.The team communication plays a significant adjusting role on the structural conflicts of sports team under Chinese context.There are many communication methods of high-context in sports team under Chinese context.The communication is introduced into the research as independent variable and it also has the significant effect to the structural conflicts of sports team.The higher levels of the team has the much more significant effect.
