The Urban Space Transformation And Human Life

The paper sheds light on the dilemmas embedded in the capitalized modern cities critically in the context of the urbanology of Marxism and argues that a turning point is coming into being.Moreover,this paper explores the present living state and the potential future path of the modern urban residents.Consequently,deriving from the critical reviews,this paper provides a key to the capital logic contained in the modern cities.Hence,to reveal the inner mechanism of the evolution of modern cities,the paper employs the research methods from Das Kapital,that is to say,to trace back the historical course of the early stage in the transformations from the primitive to capitalized in the perspective of the prime of modernized cities.Evidently,the urban space and human life have always been interconnected ever since,people seek particular dwelling space to settle down,in this sense,human life is embodied by the urban space.The urban space has been booming alongside the human settlements,that is to say,from“Homeless” to humanized nature.To be specific,the booming in question could be considered as the human lusts rather than the sign from heaven,as mentioned above,the space is humanized.For centuries,the urban space was never one-dimensional but a melting pot of architectural space,urban residents’ religions,values as well as living qualities.Hence,it is both historical and humanistic in terms of embracing the all –round developments of human beings.Consequently,the evolution of urban space is the mapping of the progress of civilization,therefore,the living conditions of human beings are embedded in the urbanization history and vice versa,in this sense,the urban space itself stands out as a brilliant pearl in the long process of human history and it could also be regarded as an epic plot on the stage of human civilization.On reviewing the urbanization history,by no means could it be denied that by birth,cities reform the human life,establish the stage of human civilization,accelerate the all-round developments of human being,thus,it evolves into urban life and urban characteristics.As the vital spots of laboring,living and socializing,the urban space provides human beings with abundant products materially and mentally.Particularly,with the flourish of massive urbanization,urban life is dominant in mirroring the living status of human beings.Admittedly,the reflections on the progress of urban space are necessary in terms of the evolutionroutes,in other words,in the context of sketching the blue print,a value-oriented consideration is crucial: the rationalization of dwelling space.At present,the urbanization has spread its tentacles to every corner globally,as consequence,various cutting-edge modernized space landscapes emerge,altering the human life,whereas,all this does not necessarily generates a poetic dwelling space for human being,moreover,it institutionalizes human being by disregarding the value of humanity.Consequently,this ignorance is leading to ecological unbalance,space rights inequity,society polarization and the spiritually value loss,etc.In this sense,when confronting the modernization,people are more confused and helpless than delightful and this dilemma is on its prime due to the emergence of modernized landscapes.In this context,the paper does not opt for a fudge,rather,it argues a brand new liberal and impartial urban space which is one of the most urgent issues of this time.The question is how to settle the dilemma.Every specific genre of urban space could be traced to the respective human civilization,hence,it is the externalization and concretization of a certain phase of human civilization.That is to say,the downfall of human civilization is the root of the dilemma of modernized urban landscapes,therefore,the modernity could be considered as the primary cause.The nature of modernity sets the cornerstone of modernized cities,in this sense,modernized cities are the externalization and concretization of modernity.Moreover,the swing and duality of rationality and irrationality which are embedded in the nature of modernity are bound to generate a paradox in the process of the modernization of cities.To be specific,according to Marx’s understanding,the driven force of modernity is capital and definitely modernity id the modernity of capital and hence the urban modernization is alongside the concretization of modernized capital,say,the “capitalized urban space”.The process of capital accumulation is indeed the progress of urban modernization,the nature of capital will becloud humanity,say,every corner of the urban life is capitalized and institutionalized.When capital dominates humanity,people will not pursue the poetic life and decline into passive nihilism.As a result,the paper argues an unambiguous picture of the reality and the future barriers that the cities may bear,that is to say,we are going to establish a rational goal and routes which are based on the notions of boundaries of “Transcendence” and“intranscendence”,hereafter,to shape a new urban space fulfilled with hopes and dedicated to humanity.
