At present,the professionalization of Chinese competitive basketball has experienced 20 years.Neyertheless,the management of professional players still lies in the traditional organizational management model.Despite its obvious advantages,the disadvantages,for example player' s fighting in game,lack of independent consciousness,larger cost of management are also highlighted.Meanwhile,its management methods do not tally with the humanistic management idea and the development of professional basketball.Based on the above,the dissertation tries to put forward that self-management mode is supposed to be adopted in the management of Chinese professional basketball players to strengthen training in players' self-management ability.As an opportunity to Chinese professional basketball development for 20 years,the dissertation which puts forward the theory of professional basketball players' self-management can provide certain reference for the reform of the management system of Chinese competitive sports in theory and practice,aiming to do some contributions to further improve the theoretical system of Chinese professional players management.Professional basketball players' self-management is inevitable in the development of era,it reflects the modernization of our country sports management system and the management ability.The author used the literature method,questionnaire survey method,expert interviews,observation method and so forth.,to intensively study the self-management of Chinese professional basketball players and demonstrate the necessity and feasibility,elements,the present situation,influence factors,implementation strategies,etc.Conclusions are as follows:(1)Self-management and organizational management are different and related.Differences between them are the subject and object of management,the implementation of the different assumptions and different management methods;At the same time,the organizational management and self-managernent are interdependent and mutually coordinated,and the success of the individual self-management must be achieved in a certain organization.(2)The self-management of Chinese professiona:l basketball players is necessary and feasible.Self-management is significant in the aspects of correcting the shortcomings of the traditional organization management,avoiding a variety of adverse temptations in society,the dialectical relationship between internal and external factors,professional sports essence,and the characteristics of professional basketball players' work.Professional basketball players' own conditions as well as social,political and economic conciitions,references provided by professional players home and abroad under self-management mode,and Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory have all confirmed that the self-management of professional basketball players in China is feasible.(3)The self-management of Chinese professional basketball players includes 9 elements,which respectively are the career planning and management,target management,time management,management responsibility consciousness,learning management,emotional management,health management,stress management,interpersonal relationship management.(4)The ability of Chinese professional basketball players'self-management is decent in general,but the various elements of the management ability have different level.Career planning and management,learning management and stress management,these three elements of management skills are at the general level;time management skills are at a low-level;target management,emotional management,responsibility management,health management and interpersonal relationship management,these 5 elements of the management ability are relatively strong.Elements like different sex,marital status,positions in the team as well as the players ages have indicated different level of self-management.The mainly influencing factors of self-management of Chinese professional basketball players are organizational management factor,individual factor,social environmental factor,others'influence factor and task factor.
