| This thesis tries to construct the historical origin and ideological origin of Phoenix in Chu State,explores the special history of the Chu nation and the overall national character,and analyzes the natural intimacy between the Chu people and Phoenix.It examines their mutual relationship from the perspective of time and space.The natural environment of the land of Jingchu is also an objective cause for the artistic style of the Chu Phoenix.In light of the thinking ways of the Chu people,the customs of Chu which are based on the sorcery culture are the internal drive for the imaginal spatial metonymy and the poetic spatial metaphor of phoenix.Because of the ancient mythological system the artistic creation of the Chu Phoenix is completely grand and mysterious.The Taoism and the Taoist aesthetics which were born of Chu contain a kind of aesthetic and artistic spirit which implies that all are united.There exist the misplacement of an aesthetic orientation and the borrowing of interpreting between Zhuangzi’s and Quyuan’s aesthetics and the art of Chu Phoenix.A developing law that runs through Chu Phoenix’s material and poetic form is hidden in the historical materiality of artistic carriers of Chu Phoenix.A study of visual connotation and aesthetic significance of Chu Phoenix aims at strengthening a kind of national spirit whose inner strength not only affects later generations and its surrounding ethnicgroups,but also has a strong enlightenment for contemporary society and art development.This study analyzes the internal cultural structure,artistic form and spiritual connotation of the image of Chu Phoenix from multiple perspectives and methods.It is mainly divided into five chapters:The introduction part introduces the origin,the significance,the time range and space category,the research methods and innovation points,etc.In this par the author reviews the related previous research on the Chu Phoenix which provides a new research field.The first chapter analyzes the origin of the Chu nation,reveals the special history and cultural origin of the Chu people,and discusses the artistic style under the influence of the environment and the relationship between the Chu people and Phoenix based on the dual structure of the literature and archaeological achievements.The second chapter first discusses the cultural cultivation and social status of the artisans in Chu which influences the artistic creation of Chu Phoenix.The original ideological environment constructed by the sorcery culture and Taoism also profoundly affects the formation of Chu Phoenix in imaginal space and poetic space,aesthetic contemplation,spiritual orientation and interpretation on Chu Phoenix.The third chapter mainly analyzes the mode of “back to the ancient”and its original cognitive logic in the poetic form of Chu Phoenix.Fromfour aspects of jade,bronze,lacquer and bird book,the author holds that carrier of Chu Phoenix embodies a transforming law from religious etiquette to secular aesthetics.This kind of poetic form is a kind of abstraction and empathy of "apparent or actual Phoenix",looking for the "original" language of "apparent or actual Phoenix",and summarizing the“qualitative” change of the schema,style,characteristics and personality of the artistic form.The fourth chapter discusses the pre-religious and symbolic symbols of the Chu Phoenix.The author sums up the visual connotation and aesthetic significance of the lacquer,the original spiritual orientation of Chu Phoenix and the enlightenment to the development of contemporary society and modern art.The fifth chapter discusses the historical status and artistic communication of the Chu Phoenix art,and explores the historical implication and overseas remains that affect the surrounding ethnic minorities.This study has shown that the originality of the Chu people at the turning point of history is the driving force of the Chu culture.In the imagination of "infinity and transcendence" deduced in the atmosphere of witchcraft and under the background of the pre-Qin rational spirit,the secular material in the art media has an important influence on the Chu Feng graphic art creation,and Chu Feng bird art in the background of thepre-Qin rational spirit.It is also a development trend from religious etiquette to secular aesthetics.The artistic conception of Chu Phoenix that advocates the cultivation of both internal beauty and external beauty implies the mode of “back to the ancient” and the poetic form of "apparent or actual Phoenix".Phoenix worship has the same cultural genes with the ancient Dongyi civilization in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.At the same time,through the observation and analysis of the rheology of time and space,the author explores that the propagation of Chu Phoenix and the overseas remains have an extensive and far-reaching influences upon the current social and artistic development. |
