| In verbal communication,people often use words of others to express their own views.Such speech activities can be divided into different types.Based on functionalism,this paper focuses on the basic units of discourse — — sentences,and studies the phenomenon of application discourse in Chinese using the basic propositions of intertextuality theory,dialogue syntax and interactive linguistics.Through the study of the structure,meaning,text and function of application discourse,we can provide a framework for the analysis of the phenomenon of application discourse.It clearly reveals the difference between application and citation,and tries to construct the analysis system of application discourse.The full text is divided into eight chapters.The first chapter introduces the origin,research problems and research value of the topic.Then,it introduces the theoretical basis and research methods,and finally explains the situation of the corpus.The second chapter by analyzing the similarities and differences between the application and the parody,comparing the differences between application,citation,borrowing and conversion,the criterion of determining the discourse application is put forward and defines the phenomenon of the application.From the point of view of relevance and systematicness,it summarizes the characteristics of general discourse applied in structure,meaning,discourse and function.According to the three levels of application discourse : the current text layer,the original discourse layer and the application layer,the types of application are divided.It is divided into the explicit application(interaction with the original)and the associative application(interaction with the present text),intra-verbal application and extra-verbal application,and frame application and substantive application.Based on the applied characteristics summarized in Chapter 2,the organization arranges chapters 3 to 7.The third chapter analyzes the form application and construction pattern of different types of the application.There are two kinds of the explicit application: marked application and unmarked parallel application.The former uses the number and position of the discourse subject and modifiers in the marker to embody the innovation of the application.The latter by applying distance iconicity,the speaker is guided by the proximity of formal distance to interpret it as a whole.The prominent feature of associative application is that there are noprimitives and application markers in the text,and only rely on the cognitive association of the subject,which is mainly manifested as frame application.According to the different forms of the application,construct the formal pattern,semantic relation pattern and cognitive pattern.The fourth chapter analyzes the emerging meaning,context dependence and analogy relation from the meaning characteristics of application discourse.The emergent meaning of application is not a simple addition of the present text meaning and the original meaning.The theory of conceptual integration can be used to explain how to select the content of reference utterances by means of applying them on the basis of selecting the present text and the original language.Through the concept of "re-contextualization ",this paper analyzes the important influence of the original context factors on the discourse application,the value-added of the original discourse after re-contextualization and the contextual interpretation of the applied meaning.The structural form of application discourse is produced by the original structural analogy,and the existing discourse is applied in different situations through conceptual integration,context absorption of the emerging applied meaning,and so on to form a series of expressions and a variety of semantic patterns.The fifth chapter analyzes its textual expression from the intertextuality characteristic of application discourse.Its intertextuality features are based on the dialogue characteristics of the application process and rely on its dependence on the original text when interpreting the mutual text.It is a dynamic process to understand the text in the specific context,and the deconstruction of the original text and the reconstruction of the existing text are carried out simultaneously,which is manifested in the interaction between the intertextual text and the original text and the interaction between the intertext and the main text,which reflects the mutual reference and blending between the texts.According to the hidden language layer of the original language,the discourse pattern of discourse application is divided into intra-verbal application and extra-verbal application.Different types of paraphrase use textual cohesion,formal means or activation of cognitive memory to apply each level of coherent discourse,and then linear arrangement.Different discourse patterns and the positions of the layers of discourse have realized the interpretation of application discourse function.The sixth chapter analyzes the evidentiality strategies from the textual characteristics of application discourse.Different types of the application use various forms to indicate the source and access of the application,in order to convey the understanding attitude of thespeaker.Through verbal means to mark the message,explain the source of application discourse,construct the common background of both sides of the application,and indicate the source of the knowledge of the speaker in the application.The explicit concealment of the original language and its location of its appearance,the structure frame retained in the applied discourse and “applied X(said)” is the coding form of the source of the information applied to the evidence.Communication strategy of application discourse has the function of two-way regulation,which can not only make the strategic choice of the original language explicit or hidden,but also make the strategic adjustment of the information status of the applied discourse by different ways,so that the original language of expressing textuality and the“ applied X(said)” are in the background position,so that the applied discourse of expressing subjective cognition can be highlighted as foreground information.The seventh chapter analyzes its interactive function from the subjective characteristics of application discourse.Application discourse is a dynamic communicative activity with interactive characteristics.The interactive function is an important motivation for the formation of applied expressions,which is characterized by intertextuality in discourse euphemism and position construction in interpersonal communication.The speaker uses the first person pronouns,modal words,markers,word order and contextualization of the applied utterances to absorb their subjective characteristics and establish different levels of association.Text interaction at all levels also implies interpersonal interaction.Under the interaction to realize the subjective cognition viewpoint expression,it causes the viewpoint to present the rich connotation and carries the information simultaneously with the emotion attitude.It has manifested the speaker to receive the speaker’s concern.The application is a means of realizing euphemism.The establishment of speech position and perspective is the embodiment of discourse interaction function.The eighth chapter is the summary and the remaining theory.The application discourse is an innovative expression means to realize the speaker’s point of view,which embodies people’s psychology of seeking new ideas and seeking differences,and achieves the strange and novel expression effect on the basis of inheritance,which is easy to attract people’s attention.This paper mainly through the analysis of application discourse structure,semantics,discourse and function,reveals the different manifestations of application and citation.The systematic study of the phenomenon of application discourse can be beneficial to the construction of language ethics,language teaching and language information processing.From the perspective of the application of the research results,the cultural tradition of the language and the cross-linguistic comparison,we can also make further research on the phenomenon of application discourse. |
