The Houtaomuga Site in Da’an,Jilin is one of the newly discovered sites in the Songnen Plain area in recent years. In this paper, the main body of the research is the bronze unearthed from the Houtaomuga site in Da’an City,Jilin Province.Using the techniques of hot forging and casting, such as chemical composition, microstructure, inclusions, and manufacturing techniques, these bronze are analyzed. This paper summarizes the development of alloy types and processing techniques of bronze unearthed from the Houtaomuga Site, and discusses the similarities and differences of mineral sources through the comparison of lead isotope data.Through experimental research,it was found that most of the bronze in the Houtaomuga Site in Da’an,Jilin were cast, and few of them were hot forged;most of the bronze showed obvious segregation.Due to the large lead particles in the bronze containing lead elements, the overall mechanical properties of the bronze are reduced,so craftsmen can adjust the processing method according to the needs of the bronze.According to the statistics of alloy composition,copper-tin alloy has the largest quantity, followed by copper-tin-lead alloy, and it has various alloy types such as copper arsenic, copper lead arsenic and so on.At the same time,a comparative study was conducted on the bronze of the cultural period of the Hanshu II Culture period of the Houtaomuga Site with the bronze unearthed from the Shuangta Cemetery. The bronze unearthed from these two sites with the same cultural attributes differ greatly in the typology of bronze, and the processing methods of the same bronze are slightly different. The age of the bronze unearthed at the Shuangta Site was a link between the Baijinbao Cultural period and the Hanshu II Culture period. It revealed that people in the early Warring States period used arsenic-containing the bronze, and a small amount of tin-containing alloys were used, while people in the middle and late Warring States period used copper-tin alloys and copper-tin-lead alloys. There is a significant reduction in quantity. In addition, this paper compares the lead isotope data of the bronze unearthed from the Houtaomuga Site with the lead isotope data of the bronze unearthed from the Shuangta Site and the Jinggouzi West Cemetery. In addition, this paper compares the lead isotope data of the bronze unearthed from the Houtaomuga Site with the lead isotope data of the bronze unearthed from the sites of Shuangta and Jinggouzi. The study found that the bronze unearthed from the Houtaomuga Site and the Shuangta Site may come from multiple different mines, and some of the bronze may have the same or similar sources; There may be trade between the residents of the Jinggouzi West Cemetery and the Songnen Plain, resulting in a high degree of similarity in the lead isotope data of the bronze. In the past, the metallurgical archaeological research in Northeast China was relatively weak, especially the research on the production methods of early bronze and the source of mineral materials in the Songnen Plain area. The Houtaomuga Site in Da’an,Jilin is one of the sites with the largest number of bronze unearthed in the Songnen Plain. The scientific research on bronze at this site is currently the most detailed scientific analysis of bronze research in the Songnen Plain. The research on the bronze unearthed at this site not only enriched the previous understanding of the archaeological culture of the Songnen Plain, but also provided a lot of information for the improvement of ancient metallurgical technology in the area.
