Research On The Transformation Of Contemporary Chinese Figurative Sculpture(1990-2000)

Contemporary figurative sculpture is an important part of contemporary Chinese sculpture.The study of its transformation in the 1990 s has irreplaceable significance both for contemporary figurative sculpture itself and for the development of contemporary sculpture today.This study will also be helpful to clarify the development of contemporary figurative sculpture in China.This paper focuses on the representative figurative sculpture works and sculptors in this period.Through detailed,comparative analysis and Research on the subject matter,formal language,expressive techniques and material application of the relevant works,it is clear how they are transformed.Of course,it should not be forgotten in the specific analysis.Record the background of the times and the influence of contemporary Western sculpture on it.In the past ten years,a group of sculptors engaged in the creation of figurative sculpture have emerged,creating a number of far-reaching figurative sculptures.On the basis of the original writing entity system,concrete transformation is carried out from four aspects: subject content,formal language,expressive techniques and material application.In the first chapter,the development of realistic sculpture is sorted out from three stages: realism,socialist realism and modernism.In the second chapter,the reasons for the transformation of contemporary figurative sculpture are discussed from three aspects: the transformation of knowledge and culture,the transformation of colleges and the influence of contemporary western sculpture,and the specific reasons for the transformation of contemporary figurative sculpture are clarified.Chapter three clarifies how to transform the subject matter of figurative sculpture from three parts: the common character becomes the main body of expression,the "thing" becomes the independent theme,and the body sculpture emerges with the contemporary figurative appearance.Chapter four discusses the transformation of the formal language of figurative sculpture from four parts: the disappearance of the base,the change of posture,the incompleteness and repetition of the body.The fifth chapter clarifies the transformation of creative techniques of figurative sculpture from three parts: surface treatment of figurative sculpture,borrowing of super-realistic techniques and popularization of color application.Chapter 6 clarifies the transformation of figurative sculpture materials from three parts: the excavation of modern materials,the re-recognition of traditional materials and the intervention of comprehensive materials.The seventh chapter discusses the opportunities and challenges faced by contemporary figurative sculpture from the current situation and thinking after the transformation of figurative sculpture,and putsforward two open questions: what is the status of figurative sculpture in the sculpture discipline today? Do you insist on the teaching of figurative sculpture? This is an unfinished proposition.
