Vietnam and China have geographical connection,and these two countries' culture are in harmony.The cultural characteristics of both countries have retained a deep imprint in their own languages.The cultural exchanges between the two nations have always been manifested in language exchange activities.I have been engaged in Chinese teaching for many years in Vietnam.I feel that in recent years,there have been more and more Vietnamese who study Chinese and Chinese who study Vietnamese as well,so the teaching and research of Chinese and Vietnamese languages has received increasing attention.After several years working as a Chinese lecture,there have been an increase trend of the number of Vietnamese who study Chinese and also the number of Chinese who study Vietnamese.Hence,the teaching and research of Chinese and Vietnamese have received increasing attention.Idioms are the crystallization of language development and a treasure of a nation.The formation and evolution of idioms is a long process.There are a large number of idioms in the Chinese and Vietnanese language systems.Through idioms,we can understand the viewpoint about the world,history,spiritual eivilization,and life experience of this nation,and also reflect the unique style of languages.Through idioms,the viewpoint about the world,history,spiritual civilization,and life experience of this nation can be explored,and the unique style of languages will also be respected).The meaning of idioms is profound and colorful,the structure is concise,and it is widely used by the people.Up to present,the ontology research and comparative research of idioms have obtained substantial achievements.Many researchers have studied and compared the language and culture of China and Vietnam,yet for the comparison of Chinese and Vietnamese idioms containing animal elements is still very scarce.Therefore,this thesis conducts structural comparison,semantic comparison and cultural comparison on the idioms containing animal elements in Chinese and Vietnamese,and strives to provide guidance for the teaching of idioms on Vietnamese.At the same time,the similarities and differences between the two national languages,cultures and thoughts,as well as the promotion of communication and cultural communication between the two nations will be mentioned.This paper firstly uses quantitative statistics method to collect information and articles about Chinese and Vietnamese idioms containing animal elements,and then conduct statistics and induction to lay the foundation for the research content.The corpus collected in this paper is mainly from Chinese idiom textbooks written by famous Chinese linguists,essays published by linguists and researchers,academic papers on China National Knowledge Infrastructure,and Master and Doctoral dissertations.In addition,this article also searches for related corpora through some well-known websites such as Peopled Daily,Xinhuanet,Baidu,Google and other search tools.Then,this paper uses the language eomparison analysis method to eompare the "Chinese and Vietnamese idioms containing animal elements" as the focus of comparative analysis,pointing out the similarities and differences between the two languages.This paper has been organized in 6 chapters:The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly introduces the purpose and significance of the research,the research object,the research scope,the research method,the corpus source of the Chinese and Vietnamese,and the structural framework of the thesis.The second chapter is the overview of Chinese and "Vietnamese idioms containing animal elements.The main content is the definition of Chinese and Vietnamese idioms containing animal elements,sources,statistics,frequency of use,quantity and the characters of Chinese and Vietnamese idioms.The third chapter is the grammatical structure comparison between Chinese and Vietnamese idioms containing aninal elements.The main content is the structural comparison of Chinese and Vietnamese idioms with animal elements,and the non-parallel structure comparison of Chinese and Vietnamese idioms containing animal elements.The fourth chapter is the comparison of the meanings of the Chinese and Vietnamese idioms containing animal elements.The main contents are:the meanings of idioms in these two languages are totally the same,the meanings are partly the same,and the meanings are completely different.The fifth chapter is the comparison of the cultural meanings of the Chinese and Vietnamese idioms eontaining animal elements(the idioms of the twelve zodiac signs).The main eontent is to explore the cultural similarities and differences between the idioms of the Chinese and Vietnamese zodiac,and to understand the similarities and differences between Vietnamese and Chinese culture.The sixth chapter is the conclusion,mainly the conclusion and innovation;the inadequacies and prospects.
