| It has been about 60 years since the International Design Awards were first established.In the development of more than half a century,along with the changes of social structure and human civilization,design awards have also changed in terms of design objectives,service objects and values advocated.The research direction of this paper can not only provide a calm thinking space for today's design evaluation in a sense,but also provide some practical and theoretical guidance for combing our design evaluation system and even for the social transformation and upgrading development.Especially in view of the emergence of various design awards in our country,we need to carefully study the experience and avoid detours.The article has been trying to find out what kind of ability and new connotation the design awards should possess today through sorting out and analyzing the relevant representative international design awards,through the historical context,growth experience,success or failure factors of the design awards,and so on.It will continue to play a leading role in the development and innovation of social civilization and the promotion of cultural value.Design awards can be part of the national innovation system.Firstly,the paper discusses the theoretical framework of design awards,and analyses the important design factors in the mid-twentieth century and the influence of social and historical background on design awards at that time.It also focuses on the development measures of national policies for design awards in Western countries,mainly Germany.This paper makes a comparative analysis of three representative design awards.IF Award is the earliest and representative of the Western design awards.Japan rose rapidly after the war.The G-mark Award in Japan has a unique sense of social value and mission to revitalize national development through design.The Red Star Award,as a representative of the rise of design awards in developing countries,started late,but developed rapidly.By comparing the three awards in terms of structure,mechanism and process,judges and contestants,development and change,and award extension(exhibition,communication,training),this paper discusses the different cultural values and social responsibilities of design awards in their respective development.The article also discusses the economic value of design awards to enterprises and the cultural value to society.In the growth of enterprises,we can see the prosperity of market benefits brought by design awards and the track of co-growth of enterprises and design awards.Design awards also play an important role in national development,national education and social progress in each country.The article also discusses the significance of design awards in an innovative society.Through the position of design awards in knowledge economy in the theory of social modernization,we can re-recognize the creative value of design awards in today's knowledge-led innovative society.At the same time,the important issues discussed in this paper include the critical value of design awards,the role of industry as a bridge between science and technology,and the impetus to change society.After sorting out the relevant contents of the design awards relatively completely,it is found that the problems that inspire people's thinking are the innovation of the whole article,and also the final foothold of the article.In the last part of the conclusion,seven questions worth considering are put forward:The credibility and value orientation of Design Awards;On the Development and Implementation of Design Awards;The Quantity and Quality of Design Awards;The basic purpose of the award should still be to promote social progress and economic development;How to correctly guide the utilization of science and technology through design awards;The Reserve of Professional Talents and the Popularization of National Education in Design Awards;And how to create a new way of life and society in the design awards. |
