Research On Chinese Genre Films

Since date of birth,the genre films have dual characteristics of art and commerce.The history of the film shows that the genre films can stimulate the director’s artistic enthusiasm,to meet the entertainment needs and aesthetic needs of the audiences,to display the commerciality of the film,to recover production cost depending on box office on the basis of production of industrialization,scale,standardization and genre,to form the cultural industries of sustainable development.The Development process of genre films of China can be divided into three stages:the Shanghai film of Republic of China,the exploring period after the reform and opening up of China and the rapid development after the accession to the WTO.The genre films of China in this paper refers to the mainland films and co-production films with foreign countries and overseas shooting in accordance with the commercial model,operating with market-oriented,to be designed according to the taste of specific groups of society and meeting their preferences of appreciation,with model characters who easy to identify,similar narrative plot and the characteristics of regular image during the market reform of Chinese film system in the new century.Although the film art originated in the West,but in accordance with the historic evolution of many foreign cultures which localised eventually,once the film becoming the Chinese artist’s creative tools,it must be integrated closely with the creator’s own cultural accumulation,emotional preference,public aesthetic needs and social spirit,ultimately to construct the regional film world facing native history and reality and showing native cultural changes.As the most representative,most remarkable public art form originated from novels,drama and literary excellence,the genre films of China essentially have Chinese literary characteristics.While the core spirit of Chinese literature is a long history,deep meaning of national culture.The nationalization of genre films is the basis and premise of commercialization.If no nationalization,there is also not commercialization and categorization.The starting and development of genre films of China is entering the track after the marketing reform in the new century,no more than 20 years so far.The film as a"seventh art" is an exotic product,domestic films are still a certain gap than Hollywood genre films in terms of the script creation,director level,operating mechanism,marketing box office and aesthetic intention.In order to go to the world,to achieve the revitalization of cultural industries,to show "soft power" of Chinese culture,genre films of China must be based on national culture,to carry forward the national spirit,on the basis of "standing on the shoulders of the giants",to learn from the Hollywood counterparts.Therefore,based on the principle of "Chinese Body and Western Usage",this paper draws lessons from the aesthetic theory and art experience of Hollywood genre films in the art form such as time,space,characters,narrative mode and aesthetic theory,to interpret and research to the genre films of China.In terms of spiritual core of the genre films is based on the extensive Chinese civilization,to interpret and research the impact of traditional Chinese philosophy,traditional culture of Mohism,Confucianism,Buddhism,Taoism and the 5,4 new culture to the genre films of China.Conclusion:it is the correct direction for Chinese genre films to develop genre films on the basis of developing national spirit.To compete with the Hollywood genre films,Chinese genre films must carry forward the national spirit,to establish cultural self-confidence.On this basis,we should respect the commercial characteristics and entertainment characteristics of genre films,to reduce the administrative instructions,to absorb the practical experiences of Hollywood genre films,to always follow the genre rules in the early script creation and later shooting production.Only in this way can we form the convergence of the genre films of China in terms of ideology,artistry,commercialization and entertainment,to promote the development and prosperity of genre films industry of China.
