The Research On Zhiguan Fenji

Zhiguan Fenji,,with a total of fifty volumes and eight hundred thousand words,is a general cyclopedia written by Sun Fengji in the late Northern Song Dynasty.The content of the collection is from the ancient legend era to Song Zhezong Shaosheng fourth year.The book not only researches history books,anthologies,notes and other historical materials,but also learns from the experience of previous compilation,adopting the structure of stories following the regime to try to reveal the origin of the civilian officials and reflect the stories of the then scholar—bureaucrats by classifying the documentations from different dynasties,so it owns striking expertise.From the research status of Zhiguan Fenji,making use of Zhiguan Fenji to carry out the historical and research studies has made great achievements,but the research on the version,sources of historical materials and its value still has a long way to go.This paper divided into five chapters is a study of the book itself.Chapter 1:the completion background of Zhiguan Fenji.This paper mainly discusses the historical background and academic background of the completion of the book from the aspects of politics,culture and the development of the general cyclopedia in the Song Dynasty,showing that the development of the imperial examination system brought about the expand of the literary intelligentsia of the Northern Song Dynasty and the development of the woodblock printing brought about the rapid spread of documentations.Owing to the dual background and taking the opportunity of the then official system's huge fluctuation,as well as based on the previous existing styles of Juyuan Gushi and the existing text version of Zhilin,the general cyclopedia Zhiguan Fenji was compiled and edited.Chapter 2:the completion process and edition of Zhiguan Fenji.Through the analysis of the Song person Sun Fengji and Zhiguan Fenji,this paper looks at the content of Zhiguan Fenji itself,illustrating that the book was likely to be compiled and edited in the years between Yuanfeng and Yuanyou and its author is the Northern Song person from Fuchun Sun Fengji.Meanwhile,the paper examines the materials such as the catalogs of the ancient book collectors and the catalogs of modern library collections,exploring the book's circulation in history and its library collection status.Chapter 3:the style and content of Zhiguan Fenji.As for the style of the book,the paper introduces the book's catalogue arrangement and content arrangement.About the content of the book,this paper mainly states the account of different aspects of the official system and the stories of the scholar—bureaucrats.Chapter 4:the historical material sources of Zhiguan Fenji.The paper introduces the Bibliography of Zhiguan Fenji,pointing out that there existed many errors and contradictions in the bibliography and deducing the authenticity of the bibliography.The paper states that the content of Zhiguan Fenji is derived from the documentations like Taiping Yulan,Tong Dian,history books written in biographical style,Tang Huiyao and so on.On this basis,some mistakes in Zhiguan Fenji are introduced and corrected.Chapter 5:the value of Zhiguan Fenji.The paper expounds the value of its compilation and collation and its historical materials.At the same time,it adds that one of the quotations of the Song Dynasty comes from Wudai Huiyao.Finally,the paper analyzes the shortcomings of Zhiguan Fenji.They are as follows:a derivate from the previous books,lack of testification,narration but no—creation,complex materials,careless compilation,frequent incompatible styles,and a lot of errors during the spread process.
