Research On Methodology Of Chinese Psychistory

Psychohistory is a interdiscipline which is based on interdisciplinary perspective,using the theoretical frameworks and research methods of history and psychology,examining the inner world of human beings to wholly grasp the historical development.According to the difference on the object of study and the research method,psychohistory can be divided into narrow psychohistory and the history of mentality,narrow psychohistory place particular emphasis on mental activity of individuals or groups in relative short time,with a characteristic of in-depth application of the theories and methods of psychology,and the history of mentality place particular emphasis on cultural mentality of social groups in the intermediate-time span and long-time span,with a characteristic of the widely use of interdisciplinary perspective in the study of history.This dissertation intend to elaborate on the background,theoretical construction,practical application and future development of Chinese psychohistory researches.In modem times,psychohistory was systematically introduced into Chinese historical study under the influence of the trend of thought in history and the ethos.In the aspect of theoretical constructions,Chinese historians represented by Peng Wei and Hu Bo constructed the theoretical frameworks of Chinese psychohistory by launching in-depth discussions on the necessity,feasibility,the object of study,research method and other important contents of psychohistory,which lay solid theoretical foundation for Chinese psychohistory study.In the aspect of the practical applications of narrow paychohistory,Chinese historians examined the inner world of political leaders,business elites and intellectuals in history,and link the production activities of the historical personage with their psychological structure,discussed the psychological motivation behind their behaviour,and formed systematic theoretical frameworks,research methods and research paradigms.In the aspect of the practical applications of the history of mentality,Chinese historians launched researches on the cultural mentality of the political groups,business community,and the intellectual community in history,inspected the cultural mentality factors behind the group behaviour,and formed the systematic categories of interdisciplinary and research paradigms.At the end of the dissertation,the author made some suggestions according to the state and problems of Chinese psychohistory study,hoping to make some contributions to the future development of Chinese psychohistory.
