Research On Yang-ming Studies In Meiji Japan

Since 1890s,Japanese begins their first large scale research on the Yang-ming studies.1893,Wang Yangming,written by Miyake Setsurei published,which was thought to be the pioneer in Japan about Yang-ming studies.Takejir(?) Takase continued the research on Wang Yangming and further expanded the research view of modem Yang-ming studies research on the basis of Wang Yangming.The Yang-ming studies research reaches its peak with the promotion of Inoue Tetsujir(?) who is the chief of the official school in Meiji Japan.It can be say that the three researchers who laid the basic foundation and established the basic research paradigms for Japanese Yang-ming studies which in return created fundamental impacts to the Yangming research of modern China,and may be thought to be the initiation of Yangming research around the whole east Asia.Until now,there are popular ideas within both China and Japan of Yangming,to some extent,be regarded as the deformation of classic yangming theory.Moreover,the Yangming they advocated are so widely accepted by China and Japan,and become nearly the common sense.For example,"learning by doing","mind is ration","intuitive knowledge",etc.,which are nearly snack-reading.However,neither Chinese academics,nor Japanese have ever paid much attention to the three pioneers creative and initiative research,no one ever try to systemic their thought.In stead,their thought,more often,are labelized.The complexity of their thought has never been exhibited comprehensively.In the context of modernization of East Asia,the research focus on the research of Miyake SetsureiTakejir(?) Takase?Inoue Tetsujir(?) in Meiji Japan,and try to give a comprehensive,objective evaluation and comments on their research,via philosophical and historical research methods.particularly,this research try to profile a clear framework for the Yang-ming studies of modern Japan,and provide some clues for further research of the Yang-ming studies?The paper was constructed by the preamble,text and conclusion.In the preamble,the research motives,research overview,and research methods shall be introduced,the concept of "yangmingxue" shall be defined in this par.The text constructed by four parts:The chapter one outlines the propagation of the Yang-ming studies in Edo period of Japan,and the research of the Yang-ming studies after the Meiji period.The chapter two analyses the research of Miyake Setsurei,the founder of the Japanese modern Yang-ming studies,four points shall be discussed in detail:firstly,from the perspective of the academic experience,his home education emphasizing the importance of both the Han Learning and Rangaku established the foundation for the research of him when he grew up,through the professional philosophical train in Tokyo University,Miyake Setsurei formed his East-West hybrided and balanced philosophy,as well as his typical philosophical research method;secondly,from the perspective of Confucianism,during his rational and positive argument with Confucianism criticism,and through the comparative analysis,Miyake Setsurei extremely highlighted the philosophical and modern features of Yang-ming studies,and put it on the peak of the mountain of world philosophy.Thirdly,the greatest contribution of Miyake Setsurei is the philosophical system established on the three guiding principles(mind is ration,learning by doing,and intuitive knowledge).Finally,the tendencies of the Miyake Setsurei's Yang-ming studies research shall be summarized in this part,that is,the nationalism,generalism,and functionalism.The states of them in the history of Japanese modern Yang-ming studies research shall be assessed objectively as well.The chapter four will systematically analyze the academic fruits of Inoue Tetsujir(?)'s Yang-ming research:his research history about the Yang-ming research shall be introduced in section one,by following the chronological order from "the enlightenment in Tokyo Empire University"—"study in German"---"becoming the leading scholar";Tetsujir(?)'s Confucius Research will be studied via the theoretic construction and value reconstruction,both of which is also the key issues of Inoue Tetsujir(?)'s Yang-ming research.The section three will focus on the creativity of Inoue Tetsujir(?)' s Yang-ming research,which will be discussed,based on the analysis of interrelationship of "Tetsujir(?)'s Confucius Research Trilogy",from the construction of systematic of Japanese Yang-ming research,the prominent of the specialty of Japanese Yang-ming research,Yang-ming research as an ideological weapon and its relationship with Bushido.And finally,in section four,the contribution and limitation of Inoue Tetsujir(?)' s Yang-ming research will be assessed objectively.The similarity of these three Yang-ming studies researchers shall be summarized through a systematic analysis of their academic background,views of research,research purpose,and research methods,limitations of researches.In general,Miyake Setsurei;Takejir(?) Takase;Inoue Tetsujir(?)'s Yang-ming research promoted the development of Japanese modern Yang-ming studies,and encouraged the revive of Yang-ming studies in both China and East Culture circle.Their philosophy,for China's social development,still have some inspirations and worth to learn in critical manner.
