| The paper mainly discusses the phenomenon of relationship between Progenitor and Inheritor(hereafter referred to as Progenitor-Inheritor relationship)of Poetry during the Resurgence of Southern Song Dynasty by focusing on the relationship between mentor and student(hereafter referred to as mentor-student relationship)as well as frontier and imitator(hereafter referred to as frontier-imitator relationship).The interaction between these two types of relationship may influence the Poets’composition process and product,as well as the development of Chinese Classical Poetry during the Resurgence of Southern Song Dynasty.The paper is divided into five chapters:The introductory chapter is to clarify the duration of "Resurgence" in the dimensional concept of the people of Southern Song Dynasty.Reviews from Southern Song Dynasty to Modern academic world and ancient overseas on the poetry during Southern Song Dynasty are conducted.In addition,this chapter reflects that from the perspective of mentor-student relationship or the frontier-imitator relationship the Poetry in the Resurgence of Southern Song Dynasty can be connected with both Jiangxi School of Poetry and Jianghu School of Poetry.As a result,three questions can be raised,i.e.what the situation of Progenitor-Inheritor relationship was in the interim synchronically and diachronically for the first two questions,and whether Progenitor-Inheritor relationship can be regarded as one of the threads of development of the Poetry in the Resurgence of Southern Song Dynasty,the Poetry of Song Dynasty and even the whole Chinese Classical Poetry.This paper also discusses the significance of research on exploration of methodology,establishment of the pattern of Poetry development in Song Dynasty,and evaluation of the literary status of the Poetry in the Resurgence of Southern Song Dynasty.The chapter of generalization tries to analyze the whole picture of Progenitor-Inheritor relationship of the Poetry during the Resurgence of Southern Song Dynasty from the point of view of Positivism.In fact,Progenitor-Inheritor relationship,literary circles and family scholarship is the main cognitive system in Traditional Chinese Culture.Discussion on the reflection of Progenitor-Inheritor relationship,one of the three main factors affecting the cognitive system,from Pre-Qin Dynasty to Tang Dynasty will be discussed.This chapter also demonstrates that the Progenitor-Inheritor relationship in the literary field is well developed since Tang Dynasty and literature in the Song Dynasty is further developed from the relationship but differs from it as well.Besides,the paper aims to distinguish and explain the difference of the consciousness of Progenitor-Inheritor relationship in Tang Dynasty and that in Song Dynasty so as to bring out a finding that the people relatively emphasized on Progenitor-Inheritor relationship.It is illustrated in two ways(ie.categorical and methodological).Furthermore,the paper finds that the Poetry during the Resurgence of Southern Song Dynasty was actually inherited from the Northern Song Dynasty,regardless of mentor-student relationship or the frontier-imitator relationship.The chapter of specification concentrates on analyzing individual poets,particularly the mentor-student relationship and the frontier-imitator relationship of "Big five poets of Resurgence" and how these relationships affected their compositions.In the paper,the term "Big five poets of Resurgence"(i.e.LU You,YANG Wanli,FAN Chengda,YOU Mao and XIAO Dezao)is proposed as well instead of the traditional term "Big four poets of Resurgence"(i.e.LU,YANG,FAN and YOU,or LU,YANQ FAN and XIAO,or LU,FAN,YOU and XIAO).Finally,investigations on what the mentor-student relationship and the frontier-imitator relationship of "Big five poets of Resurgence" are and how the five poets inherited and made the breakthrough in their compositions are conducted at the same time.The conclusion of the paper is to answer the three questions raised in the introductory chapter,they are,first,to review the Progenitor-Inheritor relationship of Poets in the Resurgence of Southern Song Dynasty from a synchronic aspect,and second,its influence from a diachronic aspect,and to investigate Progenitor-Inheritor relationship of Poets in the Resurgence between both Jiangxi School of Poetry and Jianghu School of Poetry.What’s more,whether Progenitor-Inheritor relationship can be regarded as an element for the progress of Poetry of Resurgence,Poetry of Song Dynasty and even Poetry of the whole Chinese Classical Literature is also discussed.Eventually,the literary status of Poetry during the Resurgence of the Southern Song Dynasty can therefore be revealed.In total,there are six appendixes at the end of the paper,which are entitled "A Summary of origin of cognitive system during the Resurgence of the Southern Song Dynasty","A Summary of Progenitor-Inheritor relationship in LU You’s poetry works","A Summary of Progenitor-Inheritor relationship in YANG Wanli’s poetry works","A Summary of Progenitor-Inheritor relationship in FAN Chengda’s poetry works","A Summary of Progenitor-Inheritor relationship in YOU Mao’s poetry works" and "A Summary of Progenitor-Inheritor relationship in XIAO Dezao’s poetry works".The abovementioned summaries are compiled with reference to an array of ancient texts collected by the writer,while the contents are found,reorganized or clarified by the writer.It is expected that all the appendixes can provide a concrete source for the investigation in all the chapters of this paper. |
