the late Qing dynasty,Liu Fengbao's Nan Hua Xue Xin Bian(???????)become a master of prose research and the peak afer hundreds of years since Liu Chenweng.Although this book is very important in the literary criticism on the study of Zhuangzi and contributes a lot,but the academia focus not enough.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive study and analysis of this book.As a local officer,Liu Fengbao(1826-1905)lives between teaching and learning,who is a Confucian intellectuals in the feudal society.His poetry set as Wanxiangtang F(???????),Wanxiangtang Shitie(???????),Wanxiangtang Fen Yun Biao Xin(?????????)are all his teaching experiences and outcomes beside his official career.However,his official career also has a lot of unsatisfactory,then he turned to the Zhuangzi to seek for consolation.And it needs to be explained that Liu Fengbao criticized and commented on Zhuangzi is not a whim but in his whole late life.It had been twenty years since Liu Fengbao wrote Nan Hua Xue Xin Bian based on the original book named Nan Hua Zhui JIe(??????).Also,we may get a lot on Liu Fengbao works,life,friends,thought and other aspects to conduct a comprehensive study from the materials through various local chronicles and friends's poetry set.Thus we can have a profound understanding of Liu Fengbao this person,and also on Nan Hua Xue Xin Bian this book afer in-depth study and discussion.Nan Hua Xue Xin Bian naturally have Liu Fengbao's personal innovation,but there are also many heritance from the previous writings.He learned a lot from Zhuangzi Zhu(?????),Zhuangzi Kou Yi(??????),Nanhuazhenjing Yi Hai Zuan Wei(??????????),Nanhuazhenjing Xun Ben(????????),Nnanhuazhenjing Ping Zhu(????????),Nanhuazhenjing Fu Mo(????????),Zhu Zi Hui Han(??????),Zhuangzi Yin(?????),Nan Hua Jing Jie(??????),Zhuangzi Du Jian(??????)and Zhuangzi Xue(?????)and so on,thus forming characteristics of evaluation of comments on Zhuangzi.At the same time,his Confucian thought plays an important role on the commentary research in the methods on the comments of Zhuangzi,such as the explanation of Zhuangzi based on an annotation of Jing(?).Furthermore,he criticised Zhuangzi based on Examination Essays(??),to carry on the analysis and the comprehensive evaluation of the Zhuangzi's article.But because he is not the traditional Textual Criticism of the Confucian scholar(????)which is different from the previous views,there are also the many problems in this book,that also need the textual research and analysis.And his comment ways of Pie Zhuan Tuo Xie(????)and Comparison method used in the commentary on the Zhuangzi,also has certain innovation significance and value in method.Nan Hua Xue Xin Bian's comments on Zhuangzi's thought are the important part in this paper and it should be analyzed from the following aspects.First of all,because Liu Fengbao is a feudal Confucian Intellectuals and keeps the imperial Examination Essays(????)unchanged.So in his comments on Zhuangzi,Confucianism is also reflected.At the same time,Liu Fengbao also cited a number of Buddhist ideas,but unlike the treatment of Confucianism,he cited the idea of Buddhism in order to explain Zhuangzi,and there is a certain rejection of the psychological.Besides,Liu Fengbao's contribution to the thought of Zhuangzi is also very perspective of Waipian and Zapian.Liu Fengbao pays much attention to the Zapian,and has its own unique judgment on the thought and context.These are of great value and significance to the thought of Zhuangzi.Nan Hua Xue Xin Bian's comments on Zhuangzi's content is the focus of the study and Liu Fengbao has his own understanding,which is his essential guiding ideology.In the Preface of Nan Hua Xue Xin Bian,Liu Fengbao's ideas on the evaluation of the text of Zhuangzi mainly concentrated in the paper:the image of the text,the sound of the text,the emotion of the text and the words,grammar,composition,participation and related issues are the four most important things.So starting from several aspects above,it is undoubtedly to find out the content of logic better,and we can also hold the Nan Hua Xue Xin Bian's comment characteristics.Also because Nan Hua Xue Xin Bian is focus on the prose comment on Zhuangzi,so his comments also had certain influence in the aesthetics,such as the literary interpretation on the text of Zhuangzi.At the same time,his comments such as "Bi Fa","Wen Shi" and other aspects,have great influence on literary theory.But the comment text itself is good,which fits with the spirit of Zhuangzi! Liu Fengbao's comments and Zhuangzi's texts get along swimmingly with each other and form a unique character of "literature of comments".Through the above several aspects of the introduction and evaluation,we may get the general information about Liu Fengbao and Nan Hua Xue Xin Bian.But to determine its academic status and academic value in the history of the Zhuangzi's reaserch,it needs more comprehensive analysis and evaluation.Here mainly through the comparison with comments and annotation works,which are the two important parts to be considered.Here we choose comment works as Nan Hua Jing Jie and Zhuangzi Xue,and Liu Fengbao's friends Wang Xianqian's Zhuangzi Ji Jie and Wang Kaiyun's annotation of Zhuangzi which both are the basic works of Textual Criticism in Qing dynasty as the annotation works.By such a comparison,and combined with the version of Nan Hua Xue Xin Bian,as well as the social background of many aspects,we can find out Nan Hua Xue Xin Bian 's academic status through the evaluation and measure.
