The Function And Research Value Of Temporary Landscape In Urban Public Space

This paper takes landscape as the research object and studies on temporary landscape.Urban landscape exists beyond all “public buildings” in a city with the most open space.In the process of urbanization,many wasted spaces need to be constantly updated and changed flexibly with the help of temporary ways.Temporary landscape is a special and effective form of urban landscape.Temporary landscape in the form of flexible and effective power in urban and human settlement environment development,took advantage of an opportunity to become a new era of public space and multidimensional information carrier of fashion and culture.The research contents of this paper are mainly composed of the following levels:· Through the field investigation,searching and reading a large amount of literature,the paper determined the research content and boundary.Comparing with the multiple indexes of permanent landscape,the paper determined the differences and characteristics in concept,form,construction,function,value and other aspects,and established the basic outline of temporary landscape.· Studies on temporary landscape mainly focus on the following issues: Old and wasted land.Laws,mechanisms and possibilities related to land rights.Emergency problems of environmental protection and urban ecology.Existing rigidity and lag in urban planning.Various needs to be integrated in the construction of arts and humanities.Limitations of the original landscape concept.Urgent urban regeneration.The research should be inclusive and open.· The study of temporary landscape should reflect on the original landscape design concept.Landscape should not only be limited to beautiful perception,literary description,architectural works and artistic creation,but also need examine the limitations of permanent landscape system to respond to the new landscape needs of urban space,so as to effectively deal with the issues between temporary,emergency,limitation,effect and other elements,as well as the multi-objective,quick-response,high-precision and diversified methods to serve the urban system.· The study of temporary landscape should reflect on the original public art concept. Public art should not be limited to artistic creation,the artists' personal experiences or pursuing the art of works or the structures.Public art should be combined with new digital and network technology,not limited to the cultural category but integrated with social needs.Public art should not only serve cultural forms,but also serve laws,festivals,commerce,disaster relief and others.· Through some practical cases,this paper sheds light upon the various forms of temporary landscape existing in public space of contemporary cities.By sorting out new temporary materials and technologies,the paper analyzed the strategies and methods of temporary landscape.By analyzing large-scale urban events and festival activities,the paper proposes temporary landscape as an effective means to solve problems arose in urban development from the perspective of its proactivity,systematism and organizational effectiveness,and argues that temporary landscape is an inevitable product of the information age and the diversified environment.Meanwhile,this paper focuses on the special role and value of temporary landscape concept in the fields of culture,information,business,reconstruction and ecological protection.· Study of temporary landscape should reflect on the original concept.of landscape design education.The original landscape education major is mainly divided by contents,forms and personal experiences.Contemporary design education should be combined with the needs of urbanization process and social development so that professional resources can be comprehensively allocated.· Temporary landscape,with its flexible and diverse forms,rich and distinct interfaces,convenience of rapid construction,and recyclability of materials and structures,makes up for the limitations,problems,defects and deficiencies of the original concept of urban landscape,and greatly develops the new connotation of landscape system in concept,scope,function,value,construction and operation in the new era.
