Phenomenological Study Of Three-body B Meson Decays Involving Resonant State D0*?2400?in PQCD Factorization Approach

Heavy flavor especially the B meson physics offers a good platform for determining the parameter space of standard model,investigating the source of CP violation and probing the new physics beyond standard model prediction.Three-body B meson decays play an important role in B meson physics,studying three-body decays could help us probing inner structure of resonance and searching exotic states and determining its propertyBased on perturbative(PQCD)factorization approach,we study three-body B meson decays,pay particular attention on some quasi-two-body process that concerned in experiments.The main contents of this thesis are structured as followAfter a brief introduction in chapter 1,we review the basic concepts of standard model and CP violation in chapter 2,we show the origin of CP violation in the context of standard model,list the three classes of CP violation.Taking a tree-level process as an example,we show how effective theory of B meson decays are constructed,how scales from electroweak to hadronization separated.We also show the different method of factorizationIn chapter 3,we review the state-of-art of three-body B meson decays in the context of flavor symmetry and SU(3)relations,naive factorization and QCD factorization respectively.We derive the kinematics of three body decays,introduce the method of Dalitz plot analysis,show the kinematics of different region in Dalitz plot and the associated physical picture.We review the isobar model and partial wave decomposition in multibody decays,by using the method of decomposition of multibody phase space,we carry out the formula of phase space of multibody decays We also introduce the(non)resonance and its parameterization schemes.Finally,we show the quasi-two-body treatments,especially in the context of PQCD factorization approach,and introduce two crucial inputs which incorporating two-meson distribution amplitude and timelike form factor.In chapter 4,we study the quasi-two-body decays B?PD0*(2400)?PD?with P=(?,K,?,?')in the PQCD factorization approach.The predicted branching fractions for the considered decays are in the range of 10-9-10-4.The strong Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa(CKM)suppression factor RCKM ? ?4(?2+?2)?310-4 results in the great difference of the branching ratios for the decays with D0*and D0*as the intermediate states.The ratio RD0*0 between the decays B0?D0*0K0?D-?+K0 and B0?D0*0?0?D-?+?0 is about 0.091-0.005 +0.003,consistent with the flavour-SU(3)symmetry result.The ratio for the branching fractions is found to be 1.10-0.02 +0.05 between B(Bs0?D0*+K-?D0?+K-)and B(B0?D0*+?-?D0?+?-)and to be 1.03-0.07 +0.06(between B(Bs0?D0*0K0?D-?+K0)and 2B(B0?D0*0?0?D-?+?0).In chapter 5,we extend our works on the resonant state D0*(2400)in the case of quasi-two-body B(s)meson decaying to the Bc within the PQCD approach.We give the predictions of the CP-averaged branching fractions of the quasi-two-body decays Bc??c(1S,2S)D0*+(2400)??c(1S,2S)D0?+,to test the model dependence of the light-cone distribution amplitude(LCDA)of Bc meson,we choose four types the Bc meson LCDA and give the corresponding phenomenological discussions.We also predicted the direct CP violations generated from interference of tree and penguin diagrams as ACPdir(?c(1S)D0?+)=0.0180.002(?Bc)0.000(f?c(1S)-0.001 +0.002(?e)and ACPdir(?c(2S)D0?+)=0.035-0.003 +0.004(?Bc)0.000(f?c(2S))0.003(?e).All predictions could be tested by further experiments,it may help us to investigate the property of the S-wave D-? resonance,deep understand the Bc meson decay mechanism in the context of PQCD factorization approach,and verify the self-consistency of quasi-two-body framework.
