Take Baotou southern slope plain area,a typical Inland semiarid plain saline area,as the study area.By conducting laboratory experiment and outdoor experiment in shallow stratum area,the spatial distribution pattern of electrical parameters,such as electrical resistivity,polarizability and natural potential was studied,and its relationship with stratum granular structure,salinity and moisture content were also researched,in order to provide information and basis for the monitoring and managing of soil salinization in this area.According to the results:?In different sedimentation type zones and salinization type zones of the shallow stratum area,there are prominent differences in electrical resistivity,polarizability and natural potential.In piedmont pluvial zone,the mean values of electrical resistivity,polarizability and natural potential are almost 3 times,2.5 times and 16 times as much of that in river alleviation zone.From severe salinization zone to none salinization zone,the electrical resistivity,polarizability and natural potential increases,the mean values in none salinization zone are 3 times,4.18 times and 2.2 times as much of that in severe salinization zone.?In different salinization type zones,the spatial distribution pattern of electrical resistivity are different.In none salinization zone of shallow stratum,electrical resistivity value decreases as the depth increases,while in salinization zone,the value goes up and the depth goes down.In the surface area of salinization zone,the influence of salinity on polarizability is prominent,but in the area under the surface and downward,the polarizability is primarily influenced by stratum moisture content,the effect of salinity and granular structure are slight.In stratum with high moisture content,polarizability appears to be low,while in stratum with low moisture content,polarizability appears to be high.In all types of shallow stratum salinization zones,the natural potential gets lower as the depth increases.?In the salinization zone of shallow stratum,electrical resistivity associate with salinity content and stratum fine particle content negatively,and associate with moisture content and coarse particle positively,while polarizability associate with salinity content and stratum coarse particle positively,and associate with moisture content stratum fine particle content negatively.?The stratum in the area is classified with electric property according to shallow stratum electrical characteristics.Different electric property type could reveal the hydrogeological features and the influential factors of salinity formation.The study area was classified to three classes and nine subclasses of electric property layers.?The space combination structure of shallow stratum(the salinization formation structure)contribute a lot to the emergence and development of salinization.Based on the study of electrical characteristic and electric property classification,the shallow stratum structure in studied area was classified to two classes,salinization structure and none salinization structure.On that basis,seven salinization formation structures were classified,which are high-salt structure,mid-salt structure,low-salt structure,farmland structure,sandy structure,layer-scarce structure and close structure.The study area was divided into different zones according to salinization formation structures.
