Tobacco industry consists of the economic activities such as planting,processing,production,sales and international trade,etc.Tobacco industry plays a very important role in most developing countries to increase the peasants' income,to provide the opportunities of employment and increase the financial revenue.Tracing the history of the tobacco industry in the world's major countries,Japan has moved on the international development path through the tobacco monopoly system reform,this typical example of success provides a reference for China.By 1998,the international impact of JT's own brand was very limited.The domestic market was strongly squeezed by foreign tobacco companies,and its own brand was difficult to export.After carrying out large-scale cross-border mergers and acquisitions in 1999 and 2007,JT has become the world's third largest transnational tobacco companies,with overseas markets covering more than 100 countries and regions.Today,JT's international markets overlay 120 countries and regions in the world,forming a rational layout of the industry,the upstream and downstream of the global business,turning into a classic case of international development of tobacco giant.Delving into the background,course,path and effectiveness of the international development of Japan's tobacco industry,assimilating successful experience,is of significance for china to implement "going out" strategy and supply side reform strategy,to guide Chinese tobacco enterprises to carry out foreign direct investment.By using the comparative studies and deductive generalization as the main research method,this thesis generalizes the theoretical guidance significance of the international development of tobacco industry by summarizing theory of transnational mergers and acquisitions,enterprise core competence and the brand theory.Through the elaboration and analysis of the background,course,characteristic,path and effect of the internationalization of Japanese tobacco industry,the author sums up the experience and draws some enlightenment to the internationalization of China's tobacco industry.In addition to the introduction,this paper includes the following six chapters.The second chapter is about the theory of tobacco industry internationalization.Transnational merger and acquisition theory,enterprise core competitiveness theory,brand theory and the connotation of the internationalization of tobacco industry development guidance.The third chapter is the background analysis of the international development of tobacco industry in japan.The internationalization of Japanese tobacco industry overseas background: internationalization of Philip Morris International,British American Tobacco and Imperial Tobacco.The domestic background of internationalization development of tobacco industry in Japan: Japan's domestic demand for tobacco growing decline;The domestic tobacco market is under the powerful open pressure from the United States and Europe;The Japan Tobacco share fell sharply in the domestic market in Japan.The fourth chapter is the history and characteristics of the international development of tobacco industry in japan.The international development of tobacco industry in Japan has experienced three stages:the explore period from 1984 to 1998;The development stage from 1999 to 2006 and the accelerated development stage since the year of 2007.There are two main features:attaches great importance to and give full play to the role of the brand;In the process of international development,suspend,amalgamate and change the line of production of the factories both home and abroad.The fifth chapter is the path analysis of the international development of tobacco industry in japan.This part is divided into two aspects: the promotion of Japanese government and the independent efforts of enterprises.The sixth chapter is about the effect and experience of the international development of tobacco industry in japan.The internationalization of Japanese tobacco industry achieved four remarkable results: first of all,Japan tobacco cigarettes overseas market total sales increased dramatically,the flagship brand of steady growth in sales;second,in the exchange rate,Japan Tobacco sales revenue and operating profit achieved substantial growth;third,Japan Tobacco has become the world's third largest multinational tobacco companies;finally,Japan Tobacco had a strong competitiveness of the tobacco brand.This paper gives four experience of Japan Tobacco Industry Internationalization Development: First,subjectivity and modesty are important reasons to promote Japan Tobacco transnational mergers and acquisitions successfully;Second,to carry out cross-border mergers and acquisitionsin the process of Japan's tobacco focus on the accumulation of experience,strategic investment,prior preparation,mergers and acquisitions after the integration of 80/20rules;Third,give full play to Japan's "World Headquarters" role;To establish the core competitiveness of enterprises with the business philosophy of "four S" model.The international development of the tobacco industry in Japan has two main problems:first,it is facing a severe challenge in the Russian market;second,the Japanese domestic market suffered a huge threat from the competitors.The seventh chapter: the enlightenment of the international development of tobacco industry in china.Despite the rapid development of China's tobacco industry in recent years,the pace of internationalization of the tobacco industry is far more than that of china.Japan Tobacco has been ranked the world's third largest multinational tobacco companies position which will bring beneficial experiences to China's tobacco industry without doubt.According to the actual situation of the internationalization development of Japan's tobacco industry,it can be summarized as follows:(1)After the abolition of the monopoly system,the tax revenue has not been reduced;(2)Attaches great importance to and accelerate cross-border mergers on the background of to stabilize the domestic market with multiple countermeasures.This paper puts forward the following four suggestions to promote the development of internationalization of Chinese tobacco industry:(1)the tobacco monopoly system reform;(2)to accelerate the implementation of transnational mergers and acquisitions;(3)to solve the system and personnel security issues;(4)to complementary resources,pay attention to capital operation.This paper seeks to achieve the following two innovations: first,the current domestic research has not been studied the system of Japan tobacco industry internationalization.Therefore,this topic is innovative,reflected in the data collation,point of view,research perspective,etc.It will be specifically reflected in the following aspects: collecting the latest information on Japan's tobacco industry internationalization,the Japanese tobacco industry internationalization process and current situation,achievements and experiences,problems and lessons.On this basis,the necessity of the development of China's tobacco industry internationalization and the system design are systematically studied.Second,strive to find theoretical support for the international development of tobacco industry.By the simple combing and summarizing the theory of transnationalmergers and acquisitions,the theory of the core competitiveness of enterprises and brand theory to do a simple comb and induction,the thesis managed to illustrate the guiding significance of the international development of tobacco industry.
