The Research On Wuhan Modern Industrial Development And Urban Morphology Evolvement

Wuhan modern industrial development and urban morphology evolvement are representative and typical in the process of civilization transformation in modern China,Based on the perspective of space dimensions,this dissertation discussed the history of industry and city.While modern industrial development and urban development in Wuhan put as the research object,this paper discussed the influence and impact mechanism of modern industry development on Wuhan(including three towns)urban morphology evolvement.The full text is divided into seven parts(except for introduction):The first chapter introduced the general rules of industrial development boosting urban modernization process,put forward the path of industrial layout promoting urban functional shift,and sorted out Wuhan modern industry development situation.Chapter two organized relative contents of Wuhan modern city planning,and sorted out Wuhan urban form’s characteristics that resulted from the industrial development.The unique developing trajectory of modern Hanyang district,which was dominated by the industrial development,was discussed in the third chapter,and the point that Hanyang is the typical representative of the urban morphology change was put forward in this chapter as well.New city zone construction emerged under the condition of rapid industrialization development,therefore Hanyang’s urban spatial development and expansion was leaping and formed a city layout with the factories in its center,which is different from traditional politics-oriented city function model.The fourth chapter discussed modern Wuchang district urban spatial form evolvement process under dual domination of traditions and industries.From traditional urban form to city expansion,the new and the old part of the city are developing together and gradually formed an interdependent relationship.However the function as administrative center and cultural center of Wuchang has always been the basic characteristics of Wuchang district and formed long-term effects on its structure and function layout.The fifth chapter discusses modern Hankou urban spatial form evolvement path promoted by commerce and industry together.Hankou,as an alternative sample of traditional domestic cities,formed a natural water coastline layout form with its profound traditional commerce capacity.After the opening,Hankou formed the most densely populated industrial layout along the water.The strong commercial atmosphere and the rapid industry development drive each other to develop and to jointly promote the formation of Hankou modern urban layout structure.The sixth chapter puts Wuhan three towns as samples and analyzes the inherent logic behind the different developing patterns of modern industrial development and urban spatial form,and puts forward three kinds of trajectory of modern industrial development influencing urban space form.The conclusion part summarized the whole content of this dissertation,and put forward the expectations on the following researches.
