Filter attributing to its key functions of filtering and selecting frequency is one of indispensable components in wireless communication systems.Under this circumstance,it has been receiving more attentions by the researchers.However,there are a series of problems and shortages existing in the state-of-the-art modeling methods of filter under the three-dimensional(3-D)integration technology as well as multi-functional integration method.To address these concerns mentioned above,the main motivation of this dissertation is to propose a novel efficient and accurate modeling method for two-port Millimeter-Wave filter,multi-port filtering power divider(FPD),balun filter and balanced filter.In this context,a series of novel filters have been finally designed by exploring the circuit implementation of the proposed novel resonator models as well as coupling topologies.The main contents of this dissertation can be summarized in the following aspects:1.Proposing a new type of synthesis method for two-/multi-port filter:Initially,aiming at the extraction of coupling matrixes for the two-port filter,a hybrid optimization algorithm is adopted,which combines the global search and the local optimization schemes(quantum particle swarm algorithm+fininunc algorithm).Subsequently,the synthesis method for the characteristic polynomial of the three-port power divider/balun filtering network is expanded and two types of generalized coupling topology together with their corresponding cost functions for power divider/balun filtering network are proposed.Consequently,the coupling matrix for the power divider/balun filtering network is extracted by the aforementioned hybrid optimization algorithm.Eventually,a type of general coupling topology for the four-port balanced filtering network is extracted,and the coupling matrix of the coupling topology under differential mode excitation is extracted utilizing the same hybrid optimization algorithm.2.Design of Millimeter-Wave bandpass filters based on the developed synthesis method for two-port filtering network:On the basis of two-port filtering network synthesis method,three novel Millimeter-Wave Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic(LTCC)bandpass filters with high frequency selectivity are designed by means of various coupling topologies.3.Design of the filtering power divider/balun filter based on the developed synthesis method for three-port filtering network:Based on the synthesis method for three-port filtering network,a series of novel in-phase FPDs and balun filters are designed with various coupling topologies by means of the 3-D packaging and planar printed techniques.Stemming from the distinctive voltage distribution along transmission line,four new types of microstrip FPDs/balun filters with high performance are constructed by forming a proper coupling topology between the open/short-ended certain wavelength transmission line and a pair of resonators.In addition,by taking advantage of the inherent properties of equal amplitude and out of phase between two adjacent half-wavelength regions for the TE102 mode in Substrate integrated waveguide(SIW)cavity,a Millimeter-Wave LTCC balun filter is designed with high frequency selectivity.4.Design of the balanced filters based on the developed synthesis method for four-port balanced filtering network:Based on the synthesis method of four-port balanced filtering network,two novel planar high-performance balanced filters are designed by means of various coupling topologies.Firstly,a novel microstrip tri-mode balanced filter with high common mode suppression and stopband rejection is designed by selecting proper coupling topology between the balanced coupled line prototype and tri-mode resonators.Next,by taking advantage of the balanced properties of TE102 mode in SIW cavity,a novel SIW dual-band balanced filter is designed with high common mode suppression.
