A Philological Study On Zhang Shuihui's Books About Chinese Character

Mr. Zhang Shunhui was a famous philologist, and also known as one of the few masters of Chinese culture in twentieth Century. He is proficient in classical studies, especially pay attention to the foundation on the traditional Chinese language. There are many words handed down to world, including shuowenjieziyuezhu as the representative of the Chinese characters works. It is very necessary to carry on the research of the whole through. This work because it involves deep fine traditional elementary knowledge and is hard to start, academic research is relatively weak. However, if you want to explore the characteristics of Zhang Shunhui's academic achievements, can not bypass the knowledge of their chinese character study achievements.Taking literature research as the research direction, This paper discusses the theory and practice of Zhang Shunhui's Chinese character studies' works and the combination of general and special topics. The first chapter of dissertation is the introduction to Zhang Shunhui's ideas and research methods, the relation between literal discourse and his life experience is closely related to, thus discuss the origin of his academic thought. The second chapter and the third chapter divides Zhang Shunhui's writing system into two series:Guangwenzimengqiu and its related text and single passage group into "series of introduction on Chinese character studies "; "Shuowen jieziyuezhu" and "Shuowenjiezi introduction" mainly involved the Shuowen study numerous essays and monographs group into "Shuowen series ". "Shuowenjiezi introduction" is a summary of the methodology of the study of Zhang Shunhui's writing.Shuowen jieziyuezhu is the master piece of Zhang Shunhui's Chinese character studies, which undertake in the academic history of the research on the Duan Yucai's Shuowenjiezizhu, and integration of his life to the Chinese character studies of the relevant materials and experience, so the formation of a distinctive personal characteristics. The fourth, the fifth and sixth chapter of this dissertation discuss three topics about the academic value, the source of the source of the book, and the characteristics of the characters'interpretation. The fourth chapter is concerned about the Shuowen jieziyuezhu's revision of Shuowenjiezi by Duan Yucai's Shuowenjiezizhu. Besides, on the promotion of the research, Zhang Shunhui also argument Duan Yucai was confident too much and his demanding style, origin word, as well as the issue of reference books, etc. These should be paid attention to in the research history of Shuowen jieziyuezhu.The fifth chapter is mainly about the statistics and analysis of Shuowen jieziyuezhu's references and various views cited. Zhang Shunhui as a philologist, was good at widely references. From the statistical point of view, there is no doubt about Shuowen jieziyuezhu is carried out on the basis of Duan Yucai's Shuowenjiezizhu, Zhang Shunhui in his own way, make a clear and determined to "Shuowen" academic history. Three conclusions can be drawn from the statistics and analysis of Shuowenjieziyuezhu:First, Zhang Shunhui cited other people's point of view, large number of people involved, the time span is long; Second, it has a large number of references from Duan Yucai's Shuowenjiezizhu, and has made a lot of correction; Third, Zhang Shunhui,made some inheritance and innovation. Overall look, Shuowen jieziyuezhu's references prove Zhang Shunhui truly a masters of Chinese culture.The sixth chapter is about a person of wide knowledge's Chinese character studies. This is a new concept which is given by Zhang Shunhui's academic characteristics. In Shuowen jieziyuezhu, most of the content for the sake of Zhang Shunhui reveals the relationship between sound and meaning of words, it also includes the graphemic shape and the use of Chinese character. Alliteration theory is Zhang Shunhui's Chinese character studies'core, which is a research means of both theoretical system and operation method. It has greatly promoted Zhang Shunhui's Chinese character studie. Academic research need to innovate in inheritance. Zhang Shunhui insisted on self-study, and to help students, his spirit should be carried forward.
