Under the background of educational informationization,revolutionary changes have occurred in the learning methods and means.It is no doubt that profound changes have also taken place in reading with the development of media,and formed Digital Reading(DR).The researchers have carried out a remarkable work in the field of the reading physiological,cognitive processing and learning strategies.However,in the aspect of analyzing reading characteristics and rules,we are lacking in normalization and quantitative analysis method.Learning analytics based on big data provides an opportunity to change this situation.In this paper,we focus on the subject of DR,and the goal is to promote the development of learners' reading ability based on the combination of learning analytics and developmental evaluation theory.The research questions are "how to quantify the reading process?","how to quantify learners' reading comprehension ability?" and "how to carry out the learning evaluation based on quantitative analysis techniques?" The research includes the following four aspects.Firstly,this paper proposed a digital reading analysis and application model.The research has profoundly analyzed the operation process of learning analysis and the characteristics of developmental evaluation theory.The study found that there was a high degree of complementarity between the two.Qualitative evaluation theory norms for the application of learning analysis,and the learning analysis expands the scope of evaluation.Merging the advantages of the two cannot only plays the advantages of intelligent analysis technology,but also stimulates the learners' initiative and improve the accuracy of teacher intervention.Secondly,this paper puts forwards an analysis index system of digital reading process and a series of quantitative analysis methods.This part of study started from the term of 'behavior engagement',and described the reading process engagement from three aspects:intensity,mode and regulation.Based on the research results of marking behavior in psychological theory,this paper puts forward a method of quantitative analysis of reading engagement by using the time,space position and type data generated by the marks.This method has been applied in the digital literature reading activities of college students.It is proved that the quantitative analysis based on marking behavior data can effectively reflect the reading engagement characteristics such as attention level,reading speed,time management and marking strategy.In addition,the group engagement characteristics such as reading time rule,reading frequency,self-organizing interaction also can be reflected by marking behavior.Thirdly,the study presented a four-level analysis framework of comprehension ability,and studied the quantitative analysis method of reading comprehension based on the concept map.According to the theory of Bloom's instructional objective classification,we divided the reading comprehension into four levels which included fundamental comprehension,applied comprehension,analytical comprehension and comprehensive comprehension.The different levels of reading comprehension was represented by the improving method based on the concept map.Additionally,based on the research results of knowledge extraction behavior,the content of knowledge extraction was taken as a data source to measure the level of reading comprehension of learners.This method has also been applied in the digital literature reading activities of college students.It is proved that the quantitative analysis method based on the concept map can effectively describe learners' different levels of understanding.Compared with the traditional comprehensive evaluation method,this method could effectively distinguish the differences in the reading comprehension and accurately locate the problems in comprehension.Finally,from the perspective of different stakeholders,the paper discussed the integration of quantitative analysis techniques and digital reading teaching practice.In the learners' perspective,quantitative analysis and feedback of the reading process were an important prerequisite for awakening learners' self-reflection.Through self-evaluation,learners could continue to improve and optimize the learning behavior,enhance the level of reading comprehension.In the perspective of teachers,the reading quantitative analysis was an important support tool for finding problem learning behavior and locating risk learners.Combined with the case study,this method could help teachers to achieve in-depth analysis of the problem learning behavior and precise intervention of the poor learners.From the perspective of researchers,the deep integration of analytical technique and evaluation theory was the inevitable trend of network learning evaluation.By summing up the practice,we further optimized the developmental evaluation model,and enriched the connotation of the developmental evaluation theory of 'evaluation promoting learning' from three aspects.The first one is assessment for learning and its core characteristic is touching off learning reflection and leading to learning interference.The second one is assessment as learning and its core characteristic is continuous learning reflection and behavioral adjustment.The last one is assessment of learning and its core characteristic is behavioral optimization and capacity development.
