Suffering awareness has a long history in Chinese culture.Ancients interpret suffering awareness as a kind of wisdom which means being prepared for danger in times of safety after suffering pain.Analyzed by the point of historical materialism and dialectical materialism,suffering awareness comes from responsibility,urging thinking fully and developmentally,in order to eliminate grief.Suffering awareness is a sense of responsibility,global consiousness,forward—thinking and enterprising.As the other ideology,originating in practice and being proved by practice,suffering awareness is characterized by class nature,social nature,time nature and practical nature.Suffering awareness can expect future trend,promulgate reality crisis and unite social force.It has historically been proven that suffering awareness is important for country’s prosperity and the nation’s future.Since the founding of the party,Party members break through brambles and thorns,researching on the rules of Chinese revolution development and the reform,planning national development and people’s livelihood,shouldering the historic responsibility of great rejuvenation of Chinese nation.In this process,suffering awareness which is guided by the Maxrism,with material of concerning for country,people and party,aiming to fulfill party mission and advance party career,is formed.Suffering awareness of Liu Shaoqi is the important part.As most Party leaders,Liu Shaoqi experienced great change as a teenger,seeking Marxian after receiving the traditional instruction and touching new ideas.After taking revolutionary,he had led labor movement,taken secretly combat work,so Liu Shaoqi has not only rich experience of mass work,but also central work.He is a comprehensive leader with the awareness of suffering.Suffering awareness of Liu Shaoqi has deep historical cultural origins and abundant practical basis.Time evoked accountability of governing and benefiting the nation and people that had already internalized in Liu Shaoqi’s mind.Marxism promoted his suffering awareness more scientific and more comprehensive.Historic experience of Chinese revolution and construction made his suffering awareness expanding and deepening.Suffering awareness of Liu Shaoqi evolved with the process of Chinese revolution and construction,and his life experience.It conceived in his boyhood,formed in 1930’s,became mature with total resistance course by the whole nation,and transformed as the historical mission change of the Party.According to the theme and characteristic,suffering awareness of Liu Shaoqi can be divided into embryonic stage(before 1920)、generation stage(1920—1937)、development stage(1937—1945)、transformation stage(1945—1969).Closely connected with Liu Shaoqi’s experience and thinking,this is process of his practice and summary,also development process of collective political wisdom.Fitting with his revolution and construction work experience,the contents of Liu Shaoqi’s suffering awareness mainly include the nation,the people,and the Party,with significant change before and after New China.From suffering awareness of country view,before New China,Liu Shaoqi joined in revolution with worrying about state’s destruction;after liberation,he lead construction of socialism with worrying about state’s lag.From suffering awareness of people view,before New China,Liu Shaoqi mainly worried about the bottom of society suffering repression of imperialism,feudalism and bureaucrat—capitalism;after liberation,he worried about people’s living improving slowly and livelihood work being ignored.From suffering awareness of Party view,Liu Shaoqi mainly worried about the problem of the Party ideology,organization and style.Some focus point of Party——building continued from early founding of the Party to New China,some focus point changed in different stages.Liu Shaoqi has had highly concern about fully joined ideologically,improving theory attainment,selecting qualified cadres,normal inner—party struggle,keeping mass line,implementing democratic centralism,preventing and fighting corruption.The historic contributions of Liu Shaoqi’s suffering awareness mainly focus on two aspects.On theoretical level,it enriches suffering awareness of Party members,creates a new horizon to using historical materialism and dialectical materialism,promotes the first generation learning and mastering the essence of Marxism.On practical level,it inherits and carries forward essence of traditional state-governance,promotes China’s revolution and construction by suffering awareness,proposed a series of theories about Party construction.Liu Shaoqi’s suffering awareness comes from practice and is tested by practice.It is of great practical significance to improvement of Party construction in new period,implementation of "four full aspects" and realization of "two hundred years".It shows that only with suffering awareness,our Party can respond to risk and challenge effectively.
